Winter is almost here!

And the Year End Is Upon Us

Winter is coming, are you wrapped up in your favorite sweater yet? Unless of course you live Down Under in which case you may just be shedding those warm things.

Autumn has been good to me.  My website began to see some traffic and welcome to the newest of  my blog and newsletter readers!

Placer Artists Tour

October was quite busy as I prepared for the tour.   This open studios event marked it’s 30th anniversary.  We were 117 artists, 9 galleries and 8 art schools! I opened my Gallery Garage for the first 3-day weekend over the Veterans Day weekend . Many were open for both that weekend and the next of the 3-day weekends.

A big thank you goes to my husband, he gave me a lot of help.

He built pegboard walls,

laid the new indoor/outdoor carpet,

set up the heater (it was November after all)

helped me set up the tables,

and hang the art.

I had several wonderful surprises during the event. I reconnected with a friend who stayed with me for the weekend. Two artists I know online only traveled to see my work and meet me in person. And three cousins I had not seen for many years greatly surprised me. They had seen my open studio announcement on social media and drove some miles to come by.  As I told them, I was smiling all the way to  my toes!

Happiness!

And personal wonders aside but only for a moment, I also sold 5 paintings! This one is titled Starlight Reverie. It is hard to put into words how deeply satisfying it is when someone chooses to purchase one of my paintings. It is humbling to know that my work touches them, elicits a response within them and gives them pleasure.  It gives me great joy that they chose to live with my work in their home or office.

And Good News!

And another personal wonder, I have been asked to exhibit my work at the Tango Frozen Yoghurt Shop here is Auburn CA once again. The work will go up January 23, 2024.

I am over the moon that I have been asked to show again.  My work was shown earlier this year and I sold two pieces to a family that were visiting from another state.  My work has moved out farther afield!

I hope your holidays are wonderfilled and merry.
